Valentine's Day just around the corner. I think this day either makes most people sad and lonely that they don't have anyone to share the holiday with / or they become bitter or proud that they're fully "independent". I used to be the latter, always proud that I didn't have to rely on anyone. Ever since a child, I've had this tough personality that it was best to be alone... and persevere through life independently. Ha, I guess I learned by example from my hard-working single mom at the time.
We've had the pleasure of meetingMiki Haminotwo years ago via our favorite photographerKent Avery. We had a photoshoot in El Matador Beach, Malibu. And instantly I loved Miki's personality and attitude. She was always smiling, positive, and open to shooting anything. Even when spectators came by to compliment her suit or her look, she graciously spoke to strangers.
I've always been passionate about recycling, conserving energy, and wasting less... We've been influenced by this capitalistic society to consume as much as possible, to upgrade to the newest phone, car, technology... and where do these obsolete items go? Some of our trash ends up in the "Great Pacific Garbage Patch", a big patch of plastic and trash accumulating in the ocean, where this plastic island is twice the size of Texas.
A whole decade has flown by.. and everyone's posting their highlights on their IG stories. Siempre becamelive officially January 2014, so now six years have passed. Within those six years, Siempre was sold at Revolve Clothing, Pac Sun, Hobie Surf Shop, Dolls Kill, Peppermayo, and other boutiques. Siempre has been in publications such as Vogue, Comsopolitan, Seventeen Magazine, Sports Illustrated Swim, InStyle, Just Jared, and may other magazines. Siempre has been worn on celebs such as Gigi Hadid, Yolanda Hadid, Shay Mitchell, Chantel Jeffries, and numerous influencers. So those were the achievements that were accomplished in less than six years. We hit our highest mark in sales in 2019.
Look forward to seeing more photos, lifestyle photoshoots, on the beautiful beaches of Bondi. I will miss the network of friends, models, influencers, we built here in LA. But we are ready to see Siempre on fresh faces of down under!
Dating these days are all about putting your eggs into multiple baskets. It's about compartmentalizing, to not get too invested into one person and to put your feelings on safety. Dating apps, Instagram, our millennial "philosophy" these days are to keep our options open and that the grass can always be greener.
